Peter Pilotto, Spring 2010
Peter Pilotto, Spring 2010 Runway |
Anyone can make a mini dress. What makes this one special is the abstract, watercolor-like splashes of primary colors and the charcoal gray foundation penciled in like artful shadows onto textured paper. Color and texture–from the pattern on the fabric and the actual draping of it at shoulder, waist and hem–come together here for a truly unique piece of fashion art.
Kate Bosworth in Peter Pilotto, March 2010 |
Kate Bosworth wore this dress to an event in (sort of) Spring 2010. She has the right idea, keeping hair, make-up and accessories simple in order to let the dress do the talking. At the same time, she’s wearing it. It’s not wearing her.

SPRING 2011 ATELIER VERSACE
HALLE BERRY, PRE-FALL 2010 YSL
SPRING 2011 ATELIER VERSACE
Sky blue evening gown in silk chiffon. The fabric is entirely embroidered with illuminating crystals. On the back of the dress the shoulders are draped falling into a dramatic « V ».
SPRING 2011 ATELIER VERSACE
Bluish/grey evening gown in silk chiffon. An asymmetric motif of drapery, small pleats and small rolled chiffon tubes outline the bustier and the volume of the skirt
Erdem, Spring 2011
Part winter, part Spring, the cream lace and red and pink blooms richly embellish an otherwise conservative silhouette.
Kate Bosworth wore this dress to a premiere for her latest film, “The Warrior’s Way”, in Los Angeles in November 2010. The long sleeves and cream base acknowledge the current season but the pretty floral embroidery is looking ahead to Spring. Kate paired her dress with sparkling Louboutin sandals rather than the winding, vine-like strappy sandals from the runway show.Which look do you prefer?
Jenny Packham, Spring 2011
With sheer sleeves and a deep V neck, this is a sexy, graceful showstopper. The prim belt and long, filmy layered skirt make it elegant. The sparkle makes it special.
